This is a great book for serious western desert lovers.

This is an awesome book. Even though it is relatively old, the desert doesn't change all that much. I like the editorial detail on the locations, although the sierra-clubbish preaching is a little too heavy. When this author describes a hike as challenging, you'd better be in good shape and well-experienced in the desert. Urban hikers will get their butt kicked out here.
