ABSOLUTE MUST READ! ... Best Book I've Read in 6 Years
By Kaylee Simonetti
After reading Remind Me, the bar was set pretty high, but Release Me pole vaulted right over it and set a new world record! I am proud to admit after reading this book I am MADLY in love with Hudson Chase! He puts the likes of Christian Grey, Gideon Cross and Gabriel Emerson to shame. Sure, he has all of the same characteristics we all love in our book boyfriends, money, power, charm and is panty dropping gorgeous. What Hudson has that none of the other leading men do is AnnMarie Walker and Amy K. Rogers writing for him. They have created a leading man who is flawed and tormented by his past, just like his fellow leading men in the genre, but he has a realness to him. He is not an entitled kid who had every opportunity available to him. He made his own way in life, motivated by his need to provide and protect his brother and to fit into Allie's world someday. He is the powerful alpha CEO, but he is also human. He is vulnerable when it comes to his brother and is a guy just looking for love and stability, two thinks that are intimated to have been lacking in his life growing up.
Allie really comes to life in this book, showing many different facets of herself. She is assuming a prominent role in the family business and she is determined to create the life she always wanted, but never had despite her affluent upbringing. The journey these characters go on, both individually and together can only be compared to the most famous star crossed love story of all time, Romeo & Juliet. In a very modern way, the writers have managed to recreate that romantic intrigue, but hopefully the ending will be much happier for Hudson and Allie.
In case you are wondering, the sexual tension and experiences in this book could melt wax. SEXY is not a strong enough word. If you are in an area with a heat wave, this book is certainly not going to help. Two beautiful people in sexual situations that are so unique from other books you will be blushing for days. READ THIS SERIES!!!!

HLB Reviews Release Me
By Home. Love. Books.
So this is the second book in the series, and honestly you have to read the first book before reading this one, you would just be missing out on way to much if you don’t. So while I liked the first book in the series, I have to say I think this one inched its way forward just enough for me to say I liked this one more. Be forewarned, pretty much everything I say about this book will be a spoiler if you haven’t read the first one (especially cause the first kinda ended on a bit of a cliffhanger).
So I have to say first and foremost, I was completely surprised by how this book opened. I mean I was completely unprepared for the turn of events. I warned you about spoilers, so here we go. The book opens with Allie’s parents having been murder, which of course changes the entire direction of the book and Allie’s life. I mean one minute she is going to confront her parents about her jerk faced ex-fiance Julian, and then next she is crying while talking to the police and suddenly has become the majority share holder of her families company. Needless to say life has completely changed for Allie.
I really liked Allie in this book, I liked how strong she was in the face of all the tragedy that befell her in this book. I liked that she somehow managed to keep her head on straight and keep moving, and how motivated she was at both being successful and at continuing with life. I don’t know if I would have been able to celebrate the holidays after the recent history she had had, but she did her best to find some happiness and I was just really impressed by her.
As for Hudson it was great to kind of see how he was dealing with everything. I really felt for him in this book, I mean you could tell her was really hurting because he had lost Allie. In the previous book you only really see him as this confident alpha guy, so in this book you get to see him with a heart and in a lot of ways vulnerable because he was so heartbroken. You could just tell how much her really loves Allie and how he would do just about anything to fix everything for her and for her to smile again.
Once again Julian… ugh Julian. I mean seriously, way to give the French a bad name. The only thing I can say about him in the positive is he speaks French (and the only reason why that counts for me is because its the only other language I don’t completely butcher). Harper and Nick make appearances in this book, and once again I love how good of a friend Harper is. I also really like the guy who Allie hires as her assistant, I hope to see him in the next book too.
Overall, great second book in the series. Once again ends on a cliffhanger, and now I have to wait until October to find out what happens (I am seriously marking this on my calendar). So you have time to catch up before the third book comes out, and I suggest you get on it asap.

Release Me is another "unputdownable" emotional read with forgiveness, intense passion, new beginnings and ultimately love.

It's not every day that I fall in love with a series the way I did with this one. Remind Me, book 1 in the Chasing Fire series was an amazing debut for this dynamic author duo. I enjoyed that book immensely but, Release Me was even more amazing!
First of all, if you haven't read the first book, get on your eReader and download it now. To thoroughly understand this series, you must read book 1. At the end of that book, Allie discovered much about her parents, her ex-fiancée and Hudson. Release Me, book 2 starts off right where Remind Me ends.
Tragedy strikes changing both Allie's personal and professional life. There is much for Allie to deal with. An emergency board meeting names both Allie and Hudson to joint CEO positions where they must work together.
While Allie may have freedom from her parents, who enjoyed making life decisions for her, she now needs to prove herself to keep Ingram Media alive. With Hudson as her new partner, trust issues arise.
I love Allie and Hudson so much. They were perfectly written. Allie shows her strengths in this book in many areas. She takes command of her professional responsibilities, maintains a steady friendship with Harper and establishes a humorous new relationship with her new assistant Colin. Oh, you will love Colin. He is the ideal assistant.
Hudson, sigh..... continues to be the total alpha male and excels at the "commanding alpha." I mean seriously, if the commanding alpha was an Olympic sport, I would be on the sidelines holding up that "10" sign and cheering for sure.
I think what I loved most about Hudson in this story is that he demonstrated how multifaceted he really is. He is gorgeous, sexy as f*&^, powerful, forgiving, romantic, commanding, funny, and ultimately loving. It is truly evident that Hudson will do anything for Allie making him such a complete man/character. You'll see, you will love him even more than in Remind Me. I promise.
After misunderstandings have been clarified, this couple finally gets back together. Let me warn you, it's the exquisitely written intense and romantic moments planned by Mr. Chase that will heat up your eReaders and may require a glass of water or two.
There were many scenes that I absolutely adored in this book making it quite difficult to pick a favorite. I loved the elevator scene for its intensity. I loved Christmas for many reasons. But the funniest, while sexiest part was cookie decorating with Hudson. I totally pictured that scene in my mind. And finally, there is the Orient Express scene. Holy Wow!
Important characters from Remind Me are back. Strong sibling love is truly evident in this book from moments in Nick's rehab to Christmas Eve/Day. Those moments proved how tender and lovable Hudson could be. Harper, Allie's "BFF" as Hudson calls her, has an important role in this book as well. She is not only supporting of Allie but protective in a way only a best friend could be.
This book series is at the top of my favorites and I know I mentioned this before when I reviewed Remind Me, but it is true. I could picture my favorite male model, David Gandy, the muse, throughout every brilliantly written scene.
Release Me is another "unputdownable" emotional read with forgiveness, passion, new beginnings and ultimately love.
As for the ending, without giving anything away, readers will be left with another concerning cliffhanger. Why is October so far away?
I can't wait to read Reclaim Me, book 3 in this trilogy to see how their story ends.
I gave this book 5 sizzling stars!
