At Drukka, Attila's responsibilities include building and nurturing investor relations, recruiting top entrepreneurial talent, sourcing new startup ideas, growing the organization, supporting the CEO-s of Drukka portfolio companies.

As a serial entrepreneur I have my fair share of doubts against the startup studio model. I was on the lookout for a good writeup about the pros and cons while wanting to find out what makes them tick and how they address certain problems that comes with the model itself.

This book addressed a lot of the questions I had, backed up with numbers based on real research.

Do not buy Kindle version!

Do not buy the digital Kindle version! The Kindle version is not complete, it does not include all the cases that are in the actual paperback book. It is missing several important cases and information that you will need if you're using it in a college course. There was no information regarding this when I purchased it so now I will be forced to buy the hardcopy.

I opened the kindle book expecting to complete all my homework just fine with it. The specific case that I am working on now is not in the book. There are like 4 pages for Case #3 that are blank and only say text restricted due to copyright. I don't know if other cases are missing or not but I won't be surprised. Really upset and disappointed.

I hate the fact that my professor wanted the class to use this book.Its not consistent with its material. The author is just all over the place and mixes in other topics with ones that you are reading. How this book got approved to be class material is far beyond me.

Heartwarming

I had low expectations for this anthology, and it suprised me with its depth of plot, well-drawn characters, and good quality writing style.

The Man From Pine Mountain by Lisa Jackson is a lovely story about a couple who were unjustly torn apart several years earlier. As they cautiously find their way back to each other, they forge a path of healing the grief of the past, and come to a deeper understanding of the other, and of their community. The story has a spiritual componant, and a lot of action to keep it moving swiftly and effortlessly along. Wonderful!

Naughty or Nice by Emilie Richards is a very well-written story about a social worker at orphanage of troubled girls. A product of the foster care system herself, she tried to protect her young charges from the unpleasant issues she once faced by being rather cynical and tough. A kind-hearted family of contracters who donate their time renovating the orphanage teach her what it feels like to finally belong, and in turn, she learns to lighten-up and discover the magic of the holidays, and of life and love.

Holiday Homecoming by Joan Hohl is an interesting story about the holiday reconciliation of a family torn apart by the forbidden love between a stepbrother and stepsister. At times, the diaglogue/narrative was rather sexually crude, and I had to make a conscious effort not to allow it to distract me or turn me off from the much-welcomed and powerful lesson of forgiveness and acceptance!

A Kiss for Mr. Scrooge by Lucy Gordon is about a man who isolated himself from the world and the people who loved after an accident leaves him incapacitated. When he reconnects with his former fiancee, he must learn to live, love and trust again. This story contains many touching moments as the likeable characters work their way through the issues they face. Excellent!

bad taste in my mouth

I was disappointed. Most of the stories lacked character development and moved too slowly. Also they were lacking in romance.

Holiday Homecoming annoyed me the most. The so called hero almost had smex with his younger stepsister and would have had they not been interrupted by her father. His father told him to go way and he readily did. He did not stay to fight for her but left with his tale between his legs, a coward. He stays away for years, have smex with OW that included having relationships. The heroine of course, stays celibate, frozen in time waiting for him to return. It was sad. Eventually the hero mans up and returns over seven years later. He is a hypocrite, getting upset when he thinks another man had smex with her. I am so tired of reading books that include this sexist attitude and double standard. I will admit it sets me off and ruins my enjoyment for a story when a book includes this element. It was not the only story that did either, unfortunately. It just left a bad taste in my mouth. I would never read another story by this author.

Very Good Holiday Anthology

Unlike the second reviewer, I enjoyed this book. I think Joan Hohl's story was very unique in that it was a step-sister & step-brother that were the lovers in this story. No blood relation at all, yet it tore the family apart. Good writing. I enyoyed Emilie Richards story & Lucy Gordon's, but Lisa Jackson's didn't measure up in my estimation to the other three. All in all, I enjoyed the book for my holiday reading.

No Patterns in the Kindle Edition

I bought this inexpensive book only to find figures and instructions but none of the patterns referred to. Thankfully you can get the book with the patterns in PDF format for free from www.antiquepatternlibrary.org. I give it 3 stars because but for Amazon I wouldn't have thought to even search for this book on the web and it appears to have a lot of flowers. The book states that the patterns were developed from actual models so that's of value, too.

These pioneers, through their imprecise instructions to fight repression, set in motion incessant processes by which we claim power and agency. These processes come into sharp focus in the analytic clinic. The author shows that psychoanalysis is not just a method of treatment, but also a practice of "transitional democracy," in which doctor and patient together discover the very basis of equality, as they learn how to navigate its essential flux, both in relationships and in public action.

Feminine Law illustrates these ideas through portraits of political and clinical struggle―in Constitutional battles and dynamic case studies. It tells stories of victory and setback, advance and retreat. And it tells the larger story of a dialectical process that is necessary to freedom itself. This story is peopled by characters such as Freud and the post-Freudians Lacan, Bion, and Winnicott; feminist theorists such as Benjamin, Gilligan, and Kristeva; the Constitution's framers and jurists such as Holmes and Brandeis; and modern legal scholars and contemporary critical theorists. Its thesis is illuminated by ideas from a broad range of disciplines and literatures, ranging from Athenian politics to the modern semiotics of C. S. Peirce and Walker Percy. The tale ultimately reaches a simple but rich conclusion: that both the talking cure and political free speech reveal the power of a Feminine Law: a law of spaces and dimensions that preconditions our (necessarily imperfect) pursuit of desire, subjective freedom, and collective agency. About the Author
Jill Gentile is a faculty member at the NYU Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis, a training and supervising analyst at the Institute for the Psychoanalytic Study of Subjectivity in New York, and affiliated with several other psychoanalytic institutes. She is a corresponding editor of Contemporary Psychoanalysis and on the editorial board of the International Journal of Psychoanalytic Self Psychology. Her clinical and theoretical essays, describing a trajectory of agency, desire, and emergent personal and symbolic life, have been published in many psychoanalytic journals. Founding member of the DreamTank collective, dedicated to the application of psychoanalysis to democracy and to public life, she is a practicing psychoanalyst and clinical psychologist in Highland Park, New Jersey and in Manhattan, New York.

About the Author
Robert Garcia is an editor, writer and graphic designer and has written for Filmfax, Locus, and Cinefantastique. At CFQ he developed a double-issue on the Batman 60s TV show, (written with Joe Desris), the first comprehensive look at the TV show and the first time many of the principal crew members had been interviewed. He was interviewed on the E! special on Adam West as an expert on the show. Joe Desris, a freelance writer and graphic designer, is a longtime collector and historian of Batman. He wrote the definitive history of the 1940s Batman newspaper strip. He contributed research to the film "Secret Origin: The Story of DC Comics" and for Bob Kane's autobiography, "Batman and Me," and has written about Batman for various magazines and books for collectors, including Wizard, Comics Buyer's Guide and Toy Collector.
